Every time we drive along the Ngunguru River we travel through a magnificent ecosystem that has supported our community for hundreds of years.

Come spend a couple of hours paddling on the Ngunguru River Estuary with interesting speakers who will share their knowledge of our river's ecosystem, ecology, plants, birds, fish, geology and cultural significance.

The route: from Scow Landing/Memorial Bridge to Snell’s Point Ngunguru. Stopping along the way to look and learn about the estuary. Picnic at Snell’s Point at the end of the Discovery Tour.

Date: 13 April, Easter Monday
Time and Place: Meet at 9:00am, with your kayak and lifejacket, at Scow Landing/Memorial Bridge to catch the tide for the ride to the coast. Tour starts at 9:30am
Things to bring: Life jacket, sunscreen, hat, water, snacks/lunch, togs, kayak/canoe

Transportation in your own kayak/canoe, or contact Captain Percy for a seat on his boat, or Tutukayax for a rental canoe.

Captain Percy: limited number of seats!! Phone 437-5530 to reserve your seat on the pontoon boat and cruise in style.
Tutukayax: Kayak Rental, phone 437-3626 or 0274-901-111, Dylan or Natasha.

Weather: If it's necessary to postpone the event, the change will be broadcast on MORE FM cancellations.
