Developers Landco are confident the economic downturn won’t impact on the timing or scale of housing planned at Long Bay.

Elsewhere in Auckland eight multi-million dollar developments have stalled.

Manukau city is also likely to delay planned civic facilities at Flat Bush, described as the country’s largest new town.

Landco managing director Evan Davies says Long Bay sites are unlikely to come on to the market until after 2010 when the economy is predicted to have picked up.

The scale of the Long Bay development means there’s a large amount of planning required before even earthworks can start, says Mr Davies.
