Written by unattributed
Tuesday, 29 July 2008

Help save the last untouched beach in the Auckland region from urban development. Lets preserve the un-crowded surf breaks and fishing spots for future generations to enjoy.

Development at Te Arai will critically endanger native birds and wildlife. Te Arai is home to 8 native shorebird species, 5 of which are endangered, 1 is New Zealand’s rarest bird (the fairy tern) there are only 35-40 fairy tern left in New Zealand.

Coastal development threatens landscapes and eco-systems through out New Zealand. Our coastlines natural character is being eroded by rampant development. Te Arai is one beach of many that is under threat.

Your voice can be heard, join our postcard promotion and call on the regional and central government of New Zealand to protect the untouched coastline and landscapes of Te Arai Beach.
