Verse of The Day
(Philippians 2:5-8)

The campaign to rescue Ngunguru sandspit from development has had a boost from prominent Northland artist Steve Moase.

Mr Moase, who has devoted a year’s work exclusively to images of the sandspit, has gifted one of his pieces as a 250 limited edition.

The chosen image, The Tranquil Spit Endures, was on show at a launch function at Ngunguru Hall last week.

The prints were auctioned on the night by local businessman and auctioneer Peter Jeffs, who fetched $825 for the first print.

The buyer for that print was Murray Madden, manager of the Radio Network. Later copies were purchased for the standard price of $300.

All proceeds go to support the sandspit campaign run by the Ngunguru Sandspit Protection Society.

Mr Moase’s sandspit images will be on display from January 5 to Jannuary 27 at the Line in the Sand exhibition at shop No. 6 Oceans in Tutukaka.
