Verse of The Day
“He whakawhetai tonu taku mahi ki toku Atua mo koutou, mo te aroha noa o te Atua kua homai nei ki a koutou i roto i a Karaiti Ihu; Kua meinga hoki kia hua nga mea katoa ma koutou i roto i a ia, te whakapuaki korero, te matauranga;” (1 Corinthians 1:4-5)

Charges against a man accused of causing havoc at Matapouri last year have been dismissed after police abandoned the case against him.

Mark Christopher Oxborough, 20, of Whangarei, was charged with dangerous driving, wheel spinning, threatening to kill and driving while suspended following an alleged incident on November 19 last year.

He was arrested after Matapouri residents fed up with boy racers blocked a car using a tractor and other vehicles.

Oxborough said he was not the driver of the car and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
