"Bloody hell, what's that?"

That was the first thing Tutukaka resident Roger Parsons thought when he saw "the earth move" and something looming towards him while driving home yesterday.

Seconds later he knew exactly what it was - a slip had dislodged a tree and left it standing in the middle of the road.

Mr Parsons was heading back to Tutukaka from Whangarei about 11am when something caught his eye as he was driving along Ngunguru Rd.
