No development is not an option for Ngunguru Sandspit, says owner Landco.

In November, the land development company outlined plans for a 152-hectare site that included 350 dwellings on a 35-hectare village and 84 hectares of reserves.

Landco have been discussing the future of the sandspit with the public since October 2005.

Some people want no development on the sandspit, but Landco says this isn't an option.

In a newsletter, sent to 3000 interested parties last week, Landco says proposing development plans is its right as a landowner.
