Greg Humphries

Well-known Tutukaka Store proprietor Greg Humphries, who recently received one of Rotary International's highest awards, has died after a short illness. He was aged 70 years.

Mr Humphries had previously been awarded the accolade of Rotary Paul Harris fellowship for his work for the movement and more recently he received the sapphire pin - an additional and higher endorsement.

Formerly of the Manawatu and South Auckland, he had given 25 years of service to Rotary in a wide variety of roles.

In 2005, he came north with his wife Dianne to take over the Tutukaka Store re-establishing the business in a new building after the original shop was demolished.
