Shuttle van

As this is our first blog, its a good time to introduce ourselves and let you know exactly what Nimmos have to offer.

Robert and myself (Wendy) grew up in Auckland and married in 1985. We moved away from Auckland in 1996 and bought a lifestyle block in Springfield, Whangarei. After a few different jobs we could not resist the opportunity to take on the contract to manage the Pacific Rendezvous Motel at Tutukaka. This was a steep learning curve for us as we had no experience in this field at all. We quickly learned on the job and found this to be our natural talent, working together at a job we love.

We started our transport business a few years ago as a sideline to our motel operation. As Pacific Rendezvous is not within walking distance to shops and restaurants our guests were constantly asking about local taxis for dinner trips etc. Taxis ordered from Whangarei are at a very high cost (at least $80 one-way) to take you only 5-10 minutes down the road.

We therefore decided to purchase our own Shuttle Van to ensure our guests can safely go out to local restaurants and bars and enjoy a few drinks. Also many guests required airport pickups, either from Auckland, Whangarei or Kerikeri.

This became so successful that we extended our service to the local community and Nimmos Express was created. Robert and I have now sold the contract for Pacific Rendezvous and new managers will be taking over from 1st September. We can then totally focus on our Transport and Tours leading up to RWC and the busy summer season.
