Verse of The Day
(Philippians 2:14-16)

Other Coastlines - Te Arai / Mangawhai
Written by TV3, Campbell Live

Monday 15 May:
And we meet two of New Zealand’s most endangered birds...there are only about 40 Fairy Tern left and their neighbours - the Northern New Zealand Dotterel - are also endangered. To make matters worse, now there are serious concerns about their habitat, a Northland Iwi's looking at developing 16,000 hectares of prime coastal land at Mangawhai. One proposal could see it transformed from an untouched beach to a bustling township, with thousands of new homes and even a golf course. So the challenge for local Maori, DOC and the developer is how to create jobs and make money while living side by side with the vulnerable birds.
